Harriet Trumbull Parsons died on May 11 in Pacific Grove, California. She was born on October 26, 1901 in San Mateo, California, the daughter of the Right Reverend Edward L. Parsons, bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of California. She was a graduate of Wellesley College.

She climbed in the Cascade Mountains of Washington and the Sierra Nevada. In the latter, she made the first ascent of the northwest face of the Hermit in 1939 and did a new route on Mount LeConte in 1946. She joined the American Alpine Club in 1946.

A memorial service was held at St. Mary’s-by-the-Sea Episcopal Church in Pacific Grove. She is survived by a niece and a great-niece.
