Shyamvarn and Yogeshwar. An Indian team from Bombay was led by Ramakant Mahadik. On June 20, seven completed the second ascent of Shyamvam (6135 meters, 20,128 feet). The first ascent was in 1985, when the mountain claimed the life of one climber. On June 27, eight climbers made the first ascent of Yogeshwar (6678 meters, 21,910 feet), climbing the southeast ridge. This group had attempted the peak in 1989.
