South America, Argentine and Chilean Patagonia, P c. 1400

Publication Year: 1992.

P c.1400. In late November, Steve Hayward, Chilean José Muriez and I completed a new trekking route, leaving the Río Ascencio via a steep glaciated pass northwest of the Japanese Camp. We climbed steep, unstable avalanche debris on the right side of the heavily corniced pass. We made what was probably the first ascent of P c. 1400 (c. 4593 feet), a small peak to the right of the pass, before continuing down to join the regular trekking circuit around the Torres near Lago Dickson.
