A.A.C., Oregon Section

Publication Year: 1991.

A.A.C., Oregon Section. During the year the Oregon Section conducted several meetings. The most important was a dinner meeting to discuss reorganization and general business of the Section. Announcements were mailed out for various other functions. It was an overly ambitious schedule for the previously idle Section.

The renovation of Silcox Hut on Mount Hood continued to be a “hot” project. Lewis McArthur, Richard Pooley and I were among the ambitious work crew. Several projects were completed at this aging W.P.A. hut, located at 7000 feet above Timberline Lodge between the Palmer and White River Glaciers. The construction included finish carpentry, plumbing, electrical, dry wall and insulating. In 1991 the Forest Service will provide a grant for insulation and roofing.
