Asia, Pakistan, Rakaposhi Attempt

Publication Year: 1991.

Rakaposhi Attempt. David Reeder, Roger Gocking, Ray Kalio and I attempted the Dutch variation to the Pakistani-Polish route on the northwest ridge of Rakaposhi in July and August. We were joined by Poles Aleksander Lwow and Piotr Snopczynski, who were attempting the same route. On July 20, we got to 6200 meters where a four-day storm halted us. A second attempt failed when one member contracted hepatitis. The expedition terminated on August 12 when a new storm moved in.
