Shivling. A four-man Japanese group led by Yoshikazu Inoue climbed the south face of Shivling alpine-style. After establishing Base Camp on August 3, they failed on the west ridge at 6150 meters. On August 19, Takuo Fujiwara and Hidetoshi Sawada set off to climb the 1984 Spanish route on the south face. They bivouacked at 5500, 5750, 5900 and 6100 meters and on August 24 got to the summit. Descent was by the west ridge.
