Moro Rock, East Face, Sequoia National Park, “Pièce de Renaissance.” In mid April during a spell of clear weather, Jon Gatti, John Vargas and I completed this 9-pitch route just left of the climbs, Moro Oro and Full Metal Jacket. Fantastic face climbing on steep knobs characterizes this route for its entire distance, with the exception of three aid rivets at a blank headwall. A light selection of hardware from tiny to 3" is recommended. (IV, 5.10, A1.)
