Asia, Pakistan, K2 Attempt

Publication Year: 1988.

K2 Attempt. Our expedition of French guides consisted of Francis Chaud, Alain Hantz, Titou Sagot, my husband Jean-Jacques Rolland, Dr. Bernard Hostein and me as leader. Having arrived at Base Camp on June 4, the whole team got to 7000 meters on June 18 but could not continue because of bad weather. Sagot and I descended by parapente from 6000 meters. During a second attempt, my hand was seriously hurt by a falling rock but I was able to get back to Base Camp thanks to my companions. After the complete destruction of Camp I at 7000 meters, the rest of the team gave up the attempt since the bad weather persisted.
