Tukuche. Three members of this Spanish Catalan team, Pere Giro, José María Jane and leader Lluis Gómez, reached the summit on October 4. They believe they were the first to ski a part of their ascent and descent of Tukuche. They skied from Camp I at 5520 meters to Camp II at 6120 meters and down again. This was done by all 11 members and their Sherpa sirdar. There was no snow at Base Camp and above Camp II the terrain was too difficult for skiing. They climbed the northwest ridge.
