Langtang Ri. Only three expeditions have ever attempted Langtang Ri and all three have been Japanese and successful. All have climbed the same route, the southwest ridge. The recent expedition established three high camps. Yuzo Ichinose, Mitsuru Yamamoto and Sherpas Nima Wanchu and Ajiba reached the summit on April 17, followed by leader Katsuyuki Fukuzawa, Keiji Maryyamo, Daizo Yamamoto and Ajiba on April 18. Ajiba waited in Camp III before making his second trip to the summit.
