North America, Canada, Interior Ranges, South Howser Tower, Minaret, Bugaboos, Purcell Range

Publication Year: 1988.

South Howser Tower, Minaret, Bugaboos, Purcell Range. Fabrizio Defrancesco and I arrived in the Bugaboos on July 18. We first repeated some of the routes on Bugaboo Spire and Snowpatch. We then climbed a new route on the Minaret, a prominent rock pillar on the south face of South Howser Tower. After three days of climbing with one bivouac on the wall, we reached the top, following a beautiful crack system. The climbing was of continuous 5.10, A4 difficulty. The route gained 650 meters.
