P 6150, Durung Drung Glacier. The 12-man Tokyo High School Teacher Expedition was under my leadership. We placed Base Camp on the Pensi La near the tongue of the Durung Drung Glacier. Advance Base was placed up the glacier on the 7th at 4400 meters, west of Z3. Camps I and II were established on August 9 and 11 at 5350 and 5500 meters on the ridge which runs south from Z3 on the eastern side of the glacier. On August 16 Akira Mitsui and Tetsufumi Nagashino climbed along the north ridge of P 6150 (20,177 feet) to the summit. This is the next peak to the north of Doda (6550 meters), for which we had permission. The summit climbers discovered that they were not on Doda when they saw the higher peak after getting to the summit of P 6150.
