Idaho Alpine Club

Publication Year: 1986.

Idaho Alpine Club. Our club, located in Idaho Falls, engages in diverse activities that include cross-country skiing, rafting, kayaking, bicycling, and backpacking in addition to climbing and mountaineering. Our 150 members have a strong interest in preserving our playground and as a result are involved in various conservation efforts.

The climbing season started with ascents of Idaho’s highest peaks, Borah and Leatherman, and ended with our annual climb of the Grand Teton in Wyoming. The most ambitious trip was made over the July 5 holiday weekend to Devils Tower in Wyoming, where seven of us ascended the Durrance Route.
