Helen Malcolm Le Conte died in San Francisco on July 11 at the age of 80. She had been a member of the American Alpine Club since 1933 and had a lifetime interest in the moutains. She was bom in Berkeley and lived all her life in the Bay area.

She graduated from the University of California, Berkeley in 1927 with a bachelor’s degree in music. In her professional life, she worked as a secretary and administrative assistant to various San Francisco architects and graphic designers.
