Expédition Médicale Française en Himalaya. Jean Paul Richalet, editor. Mimeographed, Paris 1982. 400 pages, many charts.
In 1981 a strong French expedition not only climbed Numbur (6956 meters) in Sola Khumbu, Nepal, but collected a vast amount of scientific data, matching much of it with data collected in Chamonix and on Mont Blanc. This useful text, unfortunately not available commercially, is in French but the many charts, tables and graphs are easily understood and will interest those concerned with altitude wellness and illness. Along with the increasing number of books from abroad it belongs in any library of altitude physiology.
