This collection of papers presented at a mountain medicine meeting held in San Sebastián will unfortunately have limited readership in the USA since the papers and tables are all in Spanish. The major problems encountered in mountaineering are discussed primarily by Spanish scientists, though the bibliographies are international and will be of interest to many physicians.
