North America, Canada, Logan Mountains, Cirque of the Unclimables

Publication Year: 1982.

Cirque of the Unclimbables, 1980. Much climbing continued to be done in 1980 in the Logan Mountains. The Lotus Flower Tower was climbed by mountaineers of various countries, but trash has been left in appalling quantities even on this climb. Bill Wylie and Mark Wilford free-climbed all but 200 feet in the second ascent of the Belgian route on Bustle Tower. Canadians made the first ascent of the south face of Parrot’s Beak. More details are found in Climbing of March-April, 1981 on page 5.
