Warbonnet Peak. In July Dave Jenkins and I accidentally did a new route on the east face of Warbonnet Peak. Thinking we were following the Lowe-Fowler line, Black Elk, we inadvertently traversed right with a pendulum where we should have headed left. We were forced to aid with our small, free-climbing rack on some steep lichen-crusted cracks. Our route follows the obvious crack system in the center of the face to below the giant chockstone, then leads up and right to the summit. NCCS V, F10, A2, 11 pitches.
