Mount Logan, North Face. On September 7, Rob Sweeney and I completed a new route on the North Face of Mount Logan. Like Mount Goode to the south it is composed of Skagit Gneiss and although not of granitic quality the climbing was exhilarating. The route followed the prominent buttress rising from the banded glacier to a large gendarme on the northwest ridge. A deep gash in my leg from loose rock, climbing on steep snow-covered rock below the false summit, and threading our way through the crevassed glacier with headlamps made our adventure very interesting.
