Publication Year: 1981.

Mount McKinley, Wickersham Wall Attempt. John Smolich, Craig Van Hoy and Andy Politz attempted the Canadian route on the Wickersham Wall. They carried everything to the base of the wall in six days from the Kahiltna Base Camp. They put in a high camp at 16,600 feet on the northwest buttress and reached 17,100 feet before the weather prevented their going higher. They traversed off the northwest buttress to 16,000 feet on the West Buttress and descended that route.
