San Pedro and Other Peaks, Northern Andes. The Federación de Andinismo de Chile held its Ninth National Convention between Sept. 16 and 23, 1978 in the high mountain area east of Calama, near the Chilean-Bolivian border. During the convention, the following peaks were ascended by affiliates: Copacoya (4807 meters, 15,780 feet) by 6 climbers; Licancabur (5921 meters, 19,425 feet) by 7; and San Pedro (6063 meters, 19,890 feet) and San Pablo (6118 meters, 20,073 feet) traversed by 25 climbers.
