Spire Point, Northwest Face. On July 29 Gary Brill, my brother Carl and I climbed this face. An approach was made from a camp on Itswoot Ridge via a prominent col west of the Spire Point massif. Begin by taking a line up the middle of the northwest buttress (questionable rock), a traverse was eventually made left toward the upper face. On the upper face itself, a weakness of cracks was found just right of center and allowed for a line which topped out high on the northwest skyline. The route was then completed with a short scramble on the summit ridge. Note: the couloir adjacent to the northwest buttress would be a more practical start. (NCCS II, F7.)
