Pabil (Ganesh IV). This joint Japanese-Nepalese Police expedition was co-led by Shigehiko Toyoda, Japan and Yogendra Thapa, Nepal. They made the first ascent of Pabil (23,300 feet), climbing the south face to the southeast ridge. The summit was reached by five of the seven Nepalese and eleven of the sixteen Japanese. The summit was reached by four parties in the period between October 16 and 22. Among those who reached the top was the Japanese woman, Emiko Okutani.
