Peaks Above the Southern Patagonian Icecap. In February we went to Lago Dickson, north of the Paine group. We camped in the highest tongue of bush by an ice puddle on the Glaciar Dickson. In fine weather we did a day trip onto the icecap via a saddle onto the Glaciar Grey. We climbed the peak between the Grey and the Dickson near the head of the glacier which drops abruptly to Fiordo Calvo, northwest of Cerro Cubo. On our other fine day we made the ascent of one of the four peaks between the Glaciares Olvidado and Dickson due west of Cerro Stokes. We climbed the second peak from the east, coming from the north via a couloir between the first and second peaks and then four pitches of an ice gully to the summit. In March we teamed with three other New Zealanders to go to the Lago Onelli for 25 days. After good weather while packing to our camp near the foot of Cerro Heim, it rained for the other 21 days. Our attempt on Cerro Heim was turned back by bad weather.
