South America, Argentine and Chilean Patagonia, Cerro Torre
Publication Year: 1978.
Cerro Torre. John Bragg, Jay Wilson and Dave Carman made the second ascent during the 1976-7 season of the west face of Cerro Torre, following the route climbed by the Italians in 1974. They climbed in semi-alpine style. It took them one day to get from the base to the Helmet, where they camped. Another long and strenuous day took them to just below the summit, where they bivouacked before gaining the summit the next day.
