P c. 8500, Near Jankowski. On August 6 Jim Hilton and I made the first ascent of an unnamed peak of about 8500 feet near the Granduc Mine, two miles south-southwest of Jankowski and three miles north of Mitre Mountain. We ascended from the pass just below the south summit of Jankowski. Choice of route up the heavily glaciated north side was the only problem other than a steep, short ice pitch just below the summit rocks.
