Publication Year: 1976.

Sunrise Wall. This is the prominent east-facing granite wall just above the trail to Nelson Lake, across the divide from Tuolomne Meadows. Karl Kaiyala, Reed Cundiff, and I made the first climb of the wall on October 13, 1974 after fixing the first pitch the evening before. The route follows a continuous crack system (a right-facing dihedral) which is very obvious from the trail. The first three pitches are free, with some strenuous sections; most of the fourth pitch is aid, with some bottoming crack problems. Grade III; F8, A3.
