A.A.C., Rocky Mountain Section

Publication Year: 1975.

A.A.C., Rocky Mountain Section. This Section met four times during the year, starting with a dinner meeting in April at the sprawling Phipps mansion in Denver. Gerry and Barbara Roach had just returned from an around-the-world junket, a part of which they presented in one of the finest showings our group has seen. Over the July 4 weekend we met to backpack to Lone Eagle Peak. Dr. Paul Lessig organized the outing, which culminated in an ascent of the peak by the Stettner route. October 1st found the Section together once again for a visitation by President Putnam and a slide presentation by Bob Craig and John Evans of their summer’s experiences with the Russian-sponsored international climbers’ camp in the Pamirs. Two weeks later on October 15, Dee Molenaar impressed the group with his well arranged slide presentation of K2 and Mount Kennedy.
