Gorkondon or Kinnaur Kailash. An Indo-Tibetan Border Polish team led by D.S. Mallik made the first ascent of this 21,247-foot peak. Previous attempts had been made from the west, but the present team took the northeast route from Tiran Kund and Duba Glacier. There were steep rock faces even before they reached the glacier. They set up four camps. On May 26 Bihari Lal, Amar Singh, Da Tenzing, Wanchoo, Thondup Tsering and Dawa Rinzing reached the summit.
