Lamjung Himal. The Hong Kong Expedition of the British Mountaineering Association was organized by Major J.L. Barker and led by Captain Michael Burgess. This nine-man team made the first ascent of the 22,921-foot peak. Their highest camp was Camp VI at 21,100 feet of the southeast ridge. The summit was reached on April 25 by Flight Officer Philip Neame and Sapper Derek Chamberlain, on April 27 by Dick Isherwood and Second Lieutenant John Scott and on May 3 by Captain Burgess.
