Chicago Mountaineering Club. The highlight of the year’s activity was the summer western outing in the Bridger Wilderness Area of the Wind River Range in Wyoming. The outing was planned and coordinated by Jack Curtin, the outing chairman. In conformity with U.S. Forest Service regulations prohibiting more than 20 persons in one campsite, the club established two independent camps approximately one mile apart. One camp was at May’s Lake and the second at Pyramid Lake below Pyramid Peak. Activities were coordinated by two-way CB radio communication. Each camp had 20 participants, with each member contributing to the operation of the camp. During the outing the following peaks were climbed: Ambush, Bonneville, Dike, Geike, Hooker, Pyramid, Raid, Tower and Washakie. A report of the outing will be published. Additionally, the club is continuing to work toward completion of the comprehensive climbing guide to Devils Lake, Wisconsin. During the past year the club membership reached an all-time high.
