A.A.C., Cascade Section
A.A.C., Cascade Section. The section held three regular meetings during 1972. In addition, a family picnic was held in July and an annual banquet on December 8. Terris Moore gave an illustrated account of the 1932 Minya Konka climb at the March meeting. At the second meeting, a buffet dinner, Warren Bleser showed slides of his climb of Chacraraju in Peru. The Rainier Brewery hosted the Cascade Section for the September meeting. Mrs. Phyllis Munday came down from Vancouver, B.C., to show lantern slides of ascents which she and her late husband, Don, made in the Canadian Coastal Range.
The annual dinner was attended by 150 persons, including President Jerry Hart. Several excellent slide show accounts were given by section members: Alex Bertulis on the South Face variation on Mount McKinley; Joan Firey on the Waddington area; Niels Andersen on the northeast ridge of Mount Huntington; and, to top off the program, Malcolm Moore on the East Ridge of Mount St. Elias.
