Peaks in the Ausangate Group, Cordillera Vilcanota. I took part in a German Alpine Club expedition to Peru, where we managed to climb six 5000-meter peaks: Saliojla (17,517 feet) on June 7 by Wolf, Faber, Heil, Prokoph, Rösier, Stix, Ströhlein, Seeländer, Schaub; Campa I (17,995 feet) on June 10 by Wolf, Faber, Rösier, Stix, Ströhlein, Schaub; Concha de Caracol (18,471 feet) on June 11 by Wolf, Faber, Rösier, Ströhlein, Schaub; “Huekeriti” (18,635 feet) on June 13 by Wolf, Faber, Rösier, Stix, Ströhlein, Schaub; Campacita I and Campacita II (both 17,684 feet) on June 15 by Wolf, Faber. “Huekeriti” (“ice tears” in Quechua) lies a half mile southwest of Mariposa. Campacita I and II are between Campa I and II.
