Jirishanca, East Face Attempt, Cordillera Huayhuash. The Moji Alpine Club of Kitakyushu City was led by Yoshijiro Fujishiro and had six other members. They set Base Camp at Carhuacocha on May 29, Camp I at 16,400 feet on June 7 and Camp II just under a buttress in the lower part of the face. Above this a bivouac was set up at 17,400 feet. The highest point reached was 18,000 feet. On June 24 they discovered the long-sought wreck of a Peruvian Army transport plane, which had crashed on the face in 1954.
