Huandoy Sur, South Face and East Ridge. An Italian-French-Belgian group made a new route on Huandoy Sur from August 14 to 17. The climbers were P. Jongan, M. Massenat, G. Theilou and G. Sterna. The extremely difficult rock on the eastern end of the south face was fixed with 1300 feet of rope in an eleven-day period. Then the actual ascent was made alpine-style. Bivouacs were at the foot of the east ridge, below and above the step in the east ridge and on the west ridge during the descent.
