Snafflehound, Southeast Ridge, Vowell Group. In one long August day Mark Weigelt, Dave Anderson, Steve Barnett and I made the first ascent of the southeast ridge of Snafflehound, which rises from the glacial cirque. The climb started some 150 feet north of the end of the ridge and continued up the crest for 19 pitches. It was mostly fifth class and two pitches were on a corniced ridge. NCCS IV, F9, all nuts.
