Simian Climbing Club

Publication Year: 1970.

Simian Climbing Club. In the fall the Simians conducted their usual instruction trips to the local cliffs at Portland Arch, Indiana. About 40 to 50 beginners learned the basics of rock climbing, and there were several weekend trips to Devils Lake, Wisconsin. More ambitious trips were planned for vacation periods. There were two trips to the Shawangunks in New York and two winter trips to Banff and Lake Louise in Alberta. Various groups went climbing during the summer. Ascents were made in the Colorado Rockies, the Tetons, the Cascades, the Canadian Rockies, the Purcells in British Columbia, as well as in Switzerland and Peru.
