Dir Gol Zom. An Italian expedition, led by Riccardo Varvelli and composed of Enrico Barbero, Guido Bertero, Filippo Corsini and Per Franco Giraudi, climbed above the south branch of the upper Tirich Glacier. On August 6 Barbero, Giraudi and Varvelli climbed Dir Gol Zom (22,238 feet). On the 8th Giraudi climbed Little Dir Gol Zom (21,490 feet). He also climbed solo Wife Peak (c. 19,685 feet). The last two were first ascents.
