Gangotri Region. An unnamed and unclimbed peak of 19,200 feet in the Gangotri region was climbed by Dr. G.R. Patwardhan, Kripal Singh, Sr., Kripal Singh, Jr., and Padam Dutta on May 26. They had established Base Camp on May 23 on the left bank of the Bhagirathi Glacier. (This peak is not properly identified. – Editor.)

Bhagirathi III (21,578 feet) was claimed to have been climbed on June 10 by Deepak Ambegaonkar and Sherpas Nima and Pemba. Base Camp was set up on May 27. The seven-man team was sponsored by M.S. University, Baroda and led by Jamshed Elavia. This peak was climbed again on June 20 by six students of the 14th Advanced Course and two instructors of the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering, led by its Vice- Principal, Major Sujat Singh.
