Saraghrar Group. Kohichiro Umezu and Shiro Yokoyama of Niigata University left Chitral on June 27 and via Shagram and Washish reached Base Camp (13,750 feet) in the Ziwar Gol on July 4, in the same place where the Italians had established theirs in 1959. After pitching Camp I and making a bivouac, on July 18 they climbed Sucai Zom (19,593 feet), finding that a German party had climbed it by a different route an hour before. On July 20 they climbed P 6421 (21,065 feet), one of twin peaks, a first ascent. On July 25 they made the first ascent of Langar Hind (22,802 feet) and on the 27th of Saraghrar North (23,097 ? feet).
