Spokane Mountaineers

Publication Year: 1963.

Spokane Mountaineers. The club’s most important undertaking was the first ascent of Mount Cooper (10,135 feet) in Idaho and is reported in more detail by W. S. Boulton elsewhere in this Journal. Official club climbs in the Cascades included Stuart, Bonanza, Cashmere Crags, Adams, and Rainier. Our Kellogg, Idaho, associates climbed six peaks in the Bugaboos, including the original Conrad Kain route on Bugaboo Spire. The opening of the new highway through Glacier, B.C., has now made weekend climbing possible in that area.
