Idaho Alpine Club

Publication Year: 1963.

Idaho Alpine Club. Founded in 1960, the Idaho Alpine Club has now completed its second year of existence. Our membership stands at 51, with members mainly from the Idaho Falls area. The club has joined the Federation of Western Outdoor Clubs. Activities sponsored by the club during 1962 included a series of lectures on mountaincraft by qualified members, a rock climbing school, a first-aid course, and outing equipment exchange. The scheduled outings ranged from one to five days in length and were planned to satisfy all members’ tastes: backpacking, technical climbing, ski mountaineering, family camping, and hiking. Included in the schedule were two trips to the Tetons, four to the Sawtooths, and one to the Wind Rivers, plus three spring ski climbs.
