Chicago Mountaineering Club. Despite our midwest location, interest in mountaineering continues to draw new members into the organization, and several active climbers joined our roster this year. During 1961 the club sponsored 15 week-end outings to Devils Lake, Wisconsin, and Mississippi Palisades, Illinois.

Our 10th western outing was held in the Selkirk Range in Glacier National Park, B. C., at the site of the old Glacier House near Glacier station. Excellent weather prevailed during the camp period, affording full enjoyment of the spectacular beauty of the region. The camp had an attendance of 64 people, and 19 peaks in the camp area were climbed, including Mount Sir Donald by the northwest arête.

Club members were also active in other areas: Don and Gwen Simpson climbed in the Alps; Lothar Kolbig and Tommy Robinson accompanied the Iowa Mountaineers to Peru; Lucio and Vittoria Mondolfo climbed in the Cariboo Range of British Columbia; and Herbert Keishold was active in the Dolomites.
