Wisconsin Hoofer Mountaineers

Publication Year: 1958.

Wisconsin Hoofer Mountaineers. Hoofer activities for 1957 resembled those of previous years, both locally and in terms of summer trips. During the winter months we thrived as ski enthusiasts and held several meetings to review the accomplishments of the past summer and plan for the summer ahead. Spring climbing at Devils Lake served to limber up those who took the annual trip to the Tetons. In August a group visited the vicinity of Gannett Peak in the Wind River Range, new country for the Hoofers. Poor weather sent several climbers from the Wind River to Colorado, where ascents were made, including Longs Peak by the East Face.
