South America, Bolivia, Ancohuma

Publication Year: 1931.

Ancohuma, 21,030 ft., in the Cordillera Real of Bolivia, has after the lapse of a number of years been climbed again, also by German climbers. Messrs. Erwin Hein and Hans Weber succeeded during a week’s trip from Sorata in ascending the mountain from the Cochipata valley. The ascent via the left wall of the Ancohuma glacier and the south ridge took six days, the return two. (Mitteilung des D. u. Oe. A. V., Sept., 1930, No. 9, p. 206.)
